The workshop

Where heritage meets mastery.

Our workshop in Tatabánya, Hungary is equipped for one purpose: returning classic Mercedes-Benz to their truest form.

The restoration process

Eight stages. One standard.

Every car moves through the same sequence, in the same workshop, under the same hands.

Paintshop — painted body
Bodywork & chassis — bare shell
Chrome & galvanise
Upholstery
Engine construction
Mechanical parts
Parts reproduction
Electrical systems
01 / 08

Primer, colour and clear are built up over months, sanded flat between coats and matched to the original factory code in water-based paint. One or two painters stay with each car from handover to final polish, and the materials, names and hours are logged for every car.

No two shells age the same way, so the real work starts once the car is fully stripped. Every panel is repaired or replaced, reference points are laser-measured and the gaps set in a test fit. Where panels no longer exist, they are shaped by hand from flat sheet.

Old plating is stripped in an acid bath, flaws are filled with brass and the part is hand-polished until the surface is even. Only then does it go on the line for copper, nickel and chrome. Screws and fasteners are zinc-coated against corrosion.

Seats, carpets, headliners, door panels and soft tops are made and restored in-house, on our own sewing and leather-skiving machines. Materials come from the best suppliers, in the full factory palette originally offered.

Every engine is taken down to the last screw, inspected, machined and honed. Gaskets, hoses and wires are replaced, and known factory faults are put right on reassembly. Nothing goes back in the car until it has passed the dynamometer.

Gearbox, suspension, brakes, air conditioning and auxiliaries are dismantled, cleaned, repaired or replaced. Fuel and brake systems get new components wherever possible.

What no longer exists is 3D-scanned from an original or drawn from documentation, then CNC-machined in-house in aluminium, steel or plastic, with surface treatment in our own facility. The list of parts we make grows every year.

The entire wiring loom is replaced, and switches, relays and motors are rebuilt and tested before assembly. Instruments are restored dial by dial. Where factory harnesses are no longer made, we make our own.
